The Dakota Tree Project is planting native, drought-tolerant trees in Albuquerque’s scarcely treed neighborhoods, along with community gardens in schools and public spaces. In doing so, we are incorporating volunteer opportunities for community strengthening possibilities. Trees can be donated and dedicated to honor loved ones and add personal investment in a tree’s wellbeing.
The Dakota Tree Project strives to provide and enrich communities within Albuquerque’s hot zones. We plant and maintain trees and community gardens which are shown to promote health and social well‐being by removing air pollution, reducing stress, creating cooler climates, encouraging physical activity, and promoting social ties and networks.

God.
In March of 2019 I miraculously made it on a study abroad trip to the Dominican Republic and on the plane ride there I prayed that God would reveal WHY He lined everything up for me to go.
I was sitting on a yacht, in awe of this experience when I looked over to my left and saw a building that was run down, unfinished and lost in a very touristy location. It didn't fit in, instead it stood out but was so easily lost because nobody wanted to pay attention to it. In that exact moment I knew what He was showing me. He showed me that even in the beautiful places that we get to go to as photographers, we have to also look for those broken spaces and give back.
My world changed when we built a house for a disabled man and gave him security.
My world changed when we were able to utilize our gifts to help give a Haitian community healthcare.
My world changed in 10 days and humbled me when I realized I was so privileged and could use that recognition to help lift other communities up ESPECIALLY in the places I get to see with my job.
God showed me that hosting retreats can do that.
Bringing people together with one mission in mind can do that.
Teaching other photographers how to build their business and open their eyes to what is going on around us can do that.
Together we can all help make the world a better place. God revealed that a servant heart is more than just serving our own clients, but local communities too.
WHERE DID FAITHFULLY STEM FROM?
RETREATS:
5 days and 4 nights
4+ shoots (both bridal and engagement)
10-14 attendees
3+ workshops
Work in a local community for a day
Transportation, lodging, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks + drinks included
ONE DAY WORKSHOPS:
1 day
1 elopement styled shoot at an EPIC location
8-10 attendees
1 intensive workshop
Lunch, dinner + drinks included
More than a styled shoot because you'll spend the day building a community
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A ONE DAY WORKSHOP AND A RETREAT?
You are responsible for your own flights. The retreats will have a shuttle to take you to and from the airport and then to any shoots / working in the community when we are together.
The one day workshops do not provide transportation. We highly recommend carpooling with the group who you will be connected with upon purchasing a ticket.
IS TRAVEL INCLUDED?
Photographers, both women AND men of all levels, especially ones who want to break into the destination market. All shoots are designed for wedding and couple content. We believe there is always something to learn, even if you have been in the industry for a while or if you started yesterday. Investing in education and retreats always pays itself off if you implement the strategies taught.
WHO IS IT FOR?
It will be catered towards each group. We will send out a questionnaire before each event to see what topic the group would like to learn most.
TOPICS:
Diving into your WHY + branding
Social Media Marketing (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest)
Taxes + Retirement

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?
We will base this off of each location. Attendees will need proof of vaccination in some countries, and others will not. Our goal is to make it a safe and comfortable space for all parties. High traffic touch spaces will frequently be wiped down and hand sanitizer will be available.
